On March 22nd Congressmen Gutierrez and Flake introduced the Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy Act of 2007 (STRIVE ACT). What do you know about this bill?
The Brazilian Women’s Group is concerned that this bill calls for strict immigration enforcement and at the same time does not clearly address the needs of millions of immigrants who live here, want to stay here, and to become a legal resident and a U.S. citizen.

Projeto-de-lei STRIVE
No dia 22 de março, os deputados federais Gutierrez e Flake introduziram um projeto de lei chamado Ato de Segurança Através de Imigração Regularizada e uma Economia Vibrante de 2007. O que você sabe sobre este projeto?
O Grupo Mulher Brasileira está preocupado que este projeto-de-lei prevê o rigoroso recrudecimento da polícia de imigração e, ao mesmo tempo, não trata claramente das necessidades de milhões de imigrantes que vivem aqui, querem continuar vivendo aqui e querem ser residentes permanentes e depois cidadãos norte-americanos.
