Participating in the Welcome MA event at the State house was a great opportunity for the formation
of a community of strangers. We were a community that day of people who cared about how immigrants were treated in Massachusetts and I felt connected to all the people who I
stood next to. It was the first time I felt my identity connected with the state of Massachusetts. And as far as first experiences go
it was awesome to be able to let others know through my collective
actions with others that I did care about the people living here,
regardless of their country of origin or status. I cared about them because I should care, because they are human and because they are
God's children. And I hope that by making this proclamation public
that our positive energy might affect others and incite them to also be more mindful about being more welcoming.
